Protection if an institution closes
If a member institution fails, DPC protects eligible deposits up to USD 3,000 at banking institutions and USD 2,000 at deposit-taking microfinance institutions, for each deposit class.

If a member institution closes, DPC guides depositors through the claims process and normally pays verified claims within 14 working days.
